Uplands Residence

location: Lethbridge, AB
PROJECT: Full Home Renovation

This Uplands home received a full refresh that balances great function with a personal, layered style the client still loves years later. From a sweeping teal granite island to a laundry room that feels more like a boutique, every space was given the same care and intention. This is the kind of home Mulberry’s loves to create: one that gets better every time you walk through the door.

The Ask

The homeowner loved her home but needed it to evolve with her lifestyle over three distinct phases. The initial priority was a major kitchen upgrade to optimize storage, streamline daily function, and create an open, welcoming layout for cooking and entertaining. Over time, the scope expanded to include a luxury ensuite retreat featuring both a walk-in shower and a dedicated soaking tub, followed by a complete lower-level transformation adding a functional new laundry room, an upgraded family room, and a comfortable bathroom for visiting guests.

The Call I Made

Instead of treating these spaces as isolated, piecemeal renovations over the years, I designed them with a single, continuous thread of continuity. I made the call to anchor each phase, from the high-traffic kitchen to the private ensuite and the lower-level guest suite, in the exact same level of spatial intention and premium material curation. By treating secondary spaces like the laundry room with the same architectural respect as the main kitchen, the entire footprint feels cohesive, permanent, and unified.

Why It Worked

Because we planned for the home’s long-term cohesion from the very first phase, the staggered renovations never felt disjointed. Years later, the home functions flawlessly whether it’s a quiet evening spent soaking in the ensuite tub or a weekend hosting a house full of family and guests. It stands as a testament to the power of a master plan: a home that doesn’t just look beautiful on a single reveal day, but gets better every year you live in it.
