Riverstone Show Home

location: Lethbridge, AB
PROJECT: Full Home Design

The Riverstone Show Home is a study in thoughtful design where every detail serves both beauty and function. From the custom range hood to a pantry with curved shelving, it proves that practical spaces deserve just as much attention as the ones you show off. Every room was designed to be truly lived in.

The Ask

Following the success of our first partnership, Janus Homes gave me full autonomy once again to design their next showcase property. The challenge this time was to fully develop the lower level, transforming the basement from a standard secondary space into a seamless, high-end extension of the main floors that would feel naturally intuitive to live in.

The Call I Made

I made the call to weave a consistent narrative of color, texture, and architectural warmth that pulled the exterior aesthetic effortlessly through every level of the home. To conquer the typical “vast, awkward basement” problem, I designed custom architectural room dividers. Instead of leaving a cold, hard-to-furnish footprint, these dividers subtly zoned the lower level into purposeful spaces, including a full gym and an under-stair dry bar, making it incredibly easy and inviting to inhabit. We paired this structural logic with clever, curated details on the main floors, like a hidden step-ladder seamlessly integrated into the walk-in pantry.

Why It Worked

The home proved that a basement never has to feel like a lower tier. By designing with structural foresight, we eliminated the layout guesswork for the future homeowners. Every square foot of the property felt deliberate, continuous, and deeply intentional, showing buyers exactly how premium design maximizes a home’s entire footprint.
