Located in one of Lethbridge’s most sought-after neighbourhoods, this kitchen renovation was about honouring the clients’ natural sense of style. Clean flat-panel maple cabinetry provides a warm, organic foundation, while a striking green apple subway tile backsplash adds an unexpected pop of colour. The result is a kitchen that feels both timeless and deeply personal-exactly the way a home should feel.
Located in one of Lethbridge’s most historic and beloved mature neighborhoods, this project was a complete modern tear-down and rebuild. The homeowners didn’t want to replicate the past; they wanted a bold, fresh start with a clean, contemporary aesthetic. They brought me onto the project right after the framing stage was complete, meaning the structural skeleton was up, but the interior lacked a cohesive identity, warmth, and a definitive point of view.
I made the call to lean fully into a crisp, vibrant modernism that would celebrate the home’s new architecture rather than apologize for it. To prevent a clean modern layout from feeling cold or sterile, I anchored the interior palette in the brilliant, organic texture of clear maple. I then paired that natural wood warmth with a deliberate, high-energy statement: a striking green apple tile installation. By bringing these elements in mid-construction, we transformed the raw, framed volumes into a sophisticated, light-filled environment with a distinct personality.
It proved that a modern home can be clean and minimal while still feeling incredibly vibrant, welcoming, and alive. Entering the process right after framing allowed us to catch the details before they were locked in, ensuring that the final color story, custom millwork textures, and material finishes worked in perfect harmony with the architecture.
